sara Churchin

Sara’s practice focuses on civil litigation and appellate law. Her experience includes managing a case load in the civil appellate division of a large national law firm in a variety of practice areas including civil defense, products liability, and professional liability. Prior to entering private practice, Sara was a briefing attorney for Justice Phil Johnson of the Texas Supreme Court.

 

 

 

Representative Experience

  • Obtained mandamus relief for a medical provider from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in a medical liability case on an issue of first impression concerning proper venue
  • Secured the reversal of a divorce and custody order in an appeal before the Third Court of Appeals on grounds of insufficient evidence
  • Achieved reversal of an excessive ad litem fee award based on insufficient evidence for a major international product manufacturer facing constant excessive ad litem awards
  • Obtained summary judgment on three out of five causes of action in a multimillion-dollar commercial dispute relating to the transfer of a large automotive dealership
  • Handled the motion practice of numerous high-value civil litigation cases, including the drafting of special appearances, motions for summary judgment, Daubert motions, motions in limine, and jury charges
