Melissa Lorber named TCWLA 2020 Litigation/Appellate Attorney Award Winner

We are pleased to announce that Melissa Lorber was awarded the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association’s 2020 Litigation/Appellate Attorney Award. Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association’s (TCWLA) mission includes strengthening the image and position of women lawyers in the community. One way that TCWLA achieves that goal is through its awards program to honor local female attorneys who have significantly contributed to the legal profession.

The women selected to receive attorney awards are nominated by their peers and jointly selected by the boards of TCWLA and the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Foundation (TCWLF) to receive the awards. The awards are usually presented at the annual TCWLA/TCWLF Grants and Awards Luncheon held in late spring of each year. Due to the COVID pandemic, the 2020 award winners—selected in Spring 2020—were not announced until a virtual ceremony in May 2021.

Melissa represents clients in appellate matters before state and federal courts. She is not only a strong appellate litigator, but is also an active member of the community. She is the immediate past chair of the Austin Bar Civil Appellate Section, has been a volunteer advocate for CASA of Travis County for more than a decade, and is a member of Impact Austin. She is certified in civil appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
